Yup. A decade into photographing couples all over this town, I just recently noticed Memorial Park. And the giant lake in it. Derp.

I am very excited when I get tough-as-nails couples like Christina and Mike, who don’t mind freezing their bums off for cool photos. I don’t mind, my equipment doesn’t mind, and I love the magical quality of snow falling through an image.
I haven’t done much shooting at Red Rock Canyon Open Space before, but it is one of the best scenic location in Colorado Springs (which has a ton of great scenic locations).
I love photographing open, affectionate couples.

Meet Heather, secret psychic and prognosticator extraordinaire. She knew if we didn’t move our session to the early morning, we would get dumped on and rained out later in the day. She was right.
Eric does NOT like photos.
At all.
In fact, Christina didn’t even tell Eric they were taking photos that day. She just told him to meet her downtown, and he did.
He was not a happy camper when I showed up.
I met Valerie and Shawn in the lush gardens behind Miramont castle, and Shawn immediately announced that he “…doesn’t smile in photos.”
Au contraire, monsieur!

This was the second to last session I photographed at GOG before the Waldo Canyon fire. They just lifted the evacuation order for part of 30th St., but I haven’t seen if GOG made it out intact or not.
