Google Maps: You’re not doing it right…

I’ve shot many weddings at The Holy Rosary Chapel (first engagement session, though), and every single time, I never remember this little factoid about Google Maps on my phone: IT HAS NO CLUE WHERE THE CHAPEL IS. You’d think I’d have at least some kind of learning curve regarding this, but apparently I don’t. Yet again, here I am, whistling away the drive, following the robot-lady’s directions only to arrive right on time at… a field. The actual location of the chapel is nowhere near where Google takes you.

So I sheepishly called Michelle and Joe, “Hi, ummmmm… the chapel’s not here and I cannot remember for the life of me where it is.”

I hear laughter. “We did the exact same thing. You have to come all the way back to the freeway by Colorado Wines.”

I apologize profusely, and arrive only ten minutes late. The actual location of the chapel is now firmly emblazoned upon my consciousness, never to be forgotten… until I have to go there again an punch it in my phone, apparently.

Winter Romance with Authentic Charm

So, I finally arrive, and the setting is wonderful. It was beautifully sunny, but slightly chilly with a nice thick blanket of snow of the ground, which allowed Michelle and Joe to walk through it without sinking in too deep, so it was both gorgeous and a piece of cake.

Looking at these photos, the thing that jumps out at me is their authentic emotion: their clear attraction and joy being around each other. They are comfortable being in love and happy in front of the camera.

Michelle wrote to me, “You did a great job capturing our ‘feelings’ on film.” Well, no Michelle, from my perspective, you and Joe did a great job sharing. I just took the picture! : )
