Marisa & Chris’ perfect Spring wedding at Sanctuary Golf Course
Sanctuary Golf Course is one of our favorite wedding venues in Colorado. It’s a private golf course set high above Daniels Park, and it’s vantage point results in stunning views across the entire valley. The clubhouse itself is richly appointed with incredible details and rustic-yet-elegant materials.
One of the most amazing aspects of Sanctuary is the sunsets. They are unique in Colorado in that they look more like Sunsets in the Midwest. Instead of the sun disappearing behind a looming mountain as with most other locations in Colorado, because of the high vantage point of Sanctuary, the sun sets almost straight across. This allows us to get awesome shots at last light.
Marisa and Chris were such a terrific couple. They both were so elegant, yet smiles and laughter came easy and often, even as the wind began to gust early on in their day. To be honest, we hate Colorado’s windy days. It’s the kind of wind that seems to even hurt your face when you’re out in it too long. It makes photography very… interesting.
I could tell that Marisa was frustrated by the way the wind was whipping her hair out of place and doing whatever it wanted with her veil. The problem is, at a venue like Sanctuary, people really want to take photos outside with those stunning backdrops (and rightly so). Like most of our brides, she had an amazing composure and was determined to “make it work”. So did we. Consequently, you can’t tell from their photos that the gale-force winds never really stopped. She is simply a stunning bride in a stunning environment. He is simply a handsome groom on their special day.
That’s the magic of fantastic attitudes and gorgeous venues.
