This was actually the second attempt to capture these images for Cassie and Mike. The first try was on the same day as those windy downtown engagement sessions i just posted. And while the tall buildings of downtown kept us relatively sheltered from the howling winds, but the time I got out to The Garden of the Gods, I realized just how sheltered we’d actually been downtown.

It was so windy that first day, I don’t think I ever saw Cassie’s eyes because her hair was constantly in her face. And it only took a few minutes before my lights were being blown over by the winds.

As she stumbled down from a rock I’d had them on to start the first session, Cassie conceded through her hair and over the howling winds, “Maybe we should try another day…?

Boy, am I glad we did! As you can see, the rescheduled shoot a few days later was perfect.
