Christina loves loves Eric.

Eric loves Christina.

Eric does NOT like photos.

At all.

In fact, Christina didn’t even tell Eric they were taking photos that day. She just said, “Show up downtown.” And he did.

He was not a happy camper when I showed up.

“I hate photos,” he explained, un-apologetically.

“That’s okay,” I answered unshaken, “most dudes don’t.”

And it’s true. Most guys I take photos of aren’t real hot on the idea. They do it for their mother’s, or girlfriends, or fiances, or wives. Left to their own devices, they would never have a portrait taken.

That’s okay. It’s my job to make it okay. And fun. And painless.

And that’s exactly what we did: we had fun. And LO and BEHOLD, he began to smile. And then he began to flirt with Christina. And then he began to relax… and that’s how it usually goes every time, for most guys.

The moral of this story, gents? Don’t be afraid of having your portraits taken. It’s not as painful as you might think. Even for guys like Eric. ; )
