There’s chill and cool couples, and then there’s Katrina and Kris. They take easy-to-work-with-ness and fun-ness and concentrate it and condense it and make it seem effortless.
This photo shoot took place right in the middle of the Black Forest Fire, so the skies were very hazy, which make shooting photos here like shooting in LA, which is really great lighting.
“Huh?”, you say, “why is smokey/smoggy sky good for photos?”
We have really harsh sun in Colorado, and a decade of experience has taught me how to effortlessly capture images in any lighting situation, however, I will totally take an “easy shoot day” when I can get them, and smokey/smoggy skies make the light really diffused and flattering. Very easy indeed.
So with our flattering, smokey skies Katrina, Kris and I proceeded to break the law (you can’t really shoot in the streets like that…) and gallivant around downtown with abandon.
What a fun session, and so totally worth the smell of smoke.
