These two are incredible. No matter how cold and wet this day became, they were ready and determined to do their engagement photos. To admit it, I was pretty damn excited, too, because I haven’t had a couple in the snow for a while.
And what a snow! It was the big, thick, heavy and wet kind. You know, the stuff that soaks you like rain the second it touches you? That’s the stuff.
So there we are, these crazy soaking-wet people traipsing around Old Colorado City in Colorado Springs, stopping people in their tracks, and literally slowing traffic. Why? Because Jeanie and Andy were so lovely and excited and in love, they seemed oblivious to the fact that they were being pelted with snow and soaked to the bone.
Seeing real people who are really in love stops most of us, at least for a second: it is simply so rare, fun, and inspiring… we have to pause to take it in. And that’s just what I did. I simply watched these two in love and joyful, and it made me happy and delighted to be there, too! (And a kudos to Nikon’s bad-ass weather and moisture sealing…)
This is why I love my job: because we pretty much get clients just like these two.
Thank you, Jeanie and Andy, for having such enthusiasm and freedom to simply be in love. It was so much fun to capture!
