There are certain times of day that simply work better for different locations in Colorado Springs, and it just so happens that early morning is best for the Broadmoor Hotel. Now, shooting portraits at the Broadmoor isn’t just a matter of showing up, sometimes they (The Broadmoor staff) care a lot if I’m just traipsing around the hotel grounds with my clients. So, we always get permission from the hotel for portrait sessions there.

This morning, I was very lucky because the Elliot family was already staying there and that’s a whole different story! Guests of the hotel have much more leeway when it comes to photography on the grounds, and the Elliots and I ate it up. It was a gorgeous morning, and somehow, I got 3 pre-teens/teens in great moods, and two parents that had just as great of attitudes (it gives me hope for my own little ones… “early risers” they ain’t, right now).
