This is one of our country’s veteran soldiers, and it was an honor to photograph he and his family before he deploys (yet again) in the coming weeks. I’m not going to use his name because he’s one of those “elite” kind of soldiers who don’t necessarily want “other” people to be able to see on the internet when they are coming and going to “areas of interest”.
I don’t know how these military families do it: worrying about loved ones abroad, keeping relationships going over long months away, kiddos missing their parents… I just have no idea.
We owe so much to our service men and women.
But if my photos of their family play any part in making the struggles and hardships of a soldier’s deployment any easier to bear, then I’ve done my tiny part to support him, and people like him…
…I hope.
Thank you for such an opportunity and honor! Come back home safe!
