Normally, I like to focus on the joy and celebration of weddings with these blog posts (and this wedding was no exception), but this bride’s story is so tragic and inspiring that I have to pause a moment to acknowledge what she and her family went through almost 2 years ago…

I cannot imagine the loss of my children. I cannot imagine how to carry on, how to find hope, how to trust much less how to even love again.

And yet, that’s exactly what Shannon did. She healed from her horrific wounds and made a full recovery, and then somehow hope and love found her again, too.

This wedding was filled with such a bittersweet mixture of celebration and sorrow, with the somber yet sweet memory of Gavin embracing everything, and with the joy and promise of a life renewed and a hopeful future for Shannon and Romeo.

They showed such poise and strength throughout the day. What an honor it was to capture it all for them.
